I’ve long had a problem keeping my car clutter free. I can’t help it – there are just too many things I carry around, and I spend far too much time in my car. Add to that all the things that moms carry on a daily basis, and our cars resemble the aftermath of a tornado! If you’re like me, you need a backseat car organizer
Fancy Mobility makes a great backseat car organizer. This product will make your life easier, trust me. There are many mesh pockets that can hold lots of stuff, so you can easily see what’s inside. Since this video, I’ve added baby wipes, disinfectant, a couple of diapers, a small activity book, a pencil, and a couple of small toys. In the visor, I added my parking pass for work, a pen, a checkbook, a couple of CDs, and a handicapped parking pass for when my dad travels with me.
Those of you who know me in real life know that I’m a Type A personality all the way. I like for things to be a certain way, and I get disappointed in myself when things don’t go as well as I had hoped. I’m way too hard on myself. Unfortunately, those of us who are like this have a problem with stress. Even if you aren’t like me, chances are that you live a very stressful life (because that’s just the way it is now, right?). I’ll tell you how I beat stress – lavender essential oil!
I recently discovered essential oils. I admit that I was skeptical, but boy was I proven wrong! I only purchased essential oils to make a great homemade toothpaste (which I LOVE). Then a couple of months ago, Sam and I were congested. I used some eucalyptus essential oil, and we were better than if we had used over-the-counter medications.
Lavender Essential Oil
Since I had found success with essential oils, I decided to try to combat all of the stress in my life. I used lavender essential oil from Avenir Oils and haven’t been disappointed in the least! I’m telling you, if you have stress, you’ve got to give this a try!!
We have lots of nightlights in our house. Sam has trouble navigating spaces (even the ones he knows so well) when he’s half-asleep, so we need lights to keep him from having an accident. We have nightlights that vary from old-school (passed down from my granny) to cool gadgets using technology. Today, I got to test the Bright LED Nightlight made by The Kitchenry. If you need a nightlight, this is exactly what you need.
I really like how bright this light is! It’s a white light, not the soft yellow light, so you should be aware of that if you prefer the latter. And because it’s LED, it only uses 0.5 watts – because who doesn’t like to save money??
Pinwheels are popular. It’s no surprise, since they’re so good! Last year, Sam and I started a diet that we stuck with through an 8-state road trip. Yeah, we love to travel. Below is the late, great JR Ewing (Larry Hagman) at Southford Ranch from the show Dallas. Ok, so it’s a cardboard cutout, but I was still excited. Even though we’re avid travelers, we don’t like to spend lots of money on food!
Before the trip, we spent an entire day making snacks and separating them into baggies with the calorie amount. We kept a cooler iced down in the backseat filled with goodies and only ate out each day for dinner. By far our favorite road trip snack was these healthy pepperoni and ham pinwheels. Staying organized is hard for almost all of us, especially when we wear so many hats. There have been days that I wouldn’t have any idea what to do or where to be from one minute to the next without a planner.
I’ve got good news for you, though. Time management is easier than you think. In fact, you can make time management as easy as A-B-C!
I’ll explain the ABC Method, then give a free printable at the end (so stick with me)!
Life is like a camera. Focus on what’s important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negatives. And if things don’t work out, just take another shot.
We all want to live a better life…we want to live the life we always dreamed of. That isn’t always easy, though, is it? If you’re like me, you had a plan for your life. No matter how much you plan and work toward goals, things never seem to work out quite like we had thought they would. This post will give 6 steps to live an abundant life, even when plans take a detour.
2015 was a bad year for us, so it goes without saying that we were glad to see it go. We had almost begun to feel cursed. Sam’s dad was re-diagnosed with cancer, my dad’s health problems (mostly crippling arthritis and severe diabetes) got worse, and Sam felt trapped in his work (he works online from home) and graduate classes. If you’re looking for the best apple pie recipe that you’ll ever eat, you’ve come to the right place. This recipe comes straight from my Granny’s recipe box and stands the test of time. It’s not surprising that apple pie is an American tradition. You rarely find someone who doesn’t like it, so it’s a safe bet that granny’s old-fashioned apple pie will be a popular item.
You might think that old-fashioned apple pie is hard to make and tedious. You might have visions of the woman stumbling out of the kitchen with tussled hair and flour all over her face and hands (and arms and clothes). That’s not the case.
I’ve been getting over bronchitis and am having a hard time shaking it. I didn’t even feel like snacking on all the goodies at our annual office-wide cookie exchange party at work. I have to admit that I was a bit bummed. My throat was sore and I had medicine-head. Enter Leslie to the rescue with her candied grapes.
Aren’t these candied grapes beautiful?
Leslie has amazing “cheater” recipes. She calls them cheater because they’re so, so simple, but taste so good. I should have known Leslie would have something up her sleeve.
Leslie brought me a bowl of these candied grapes and told me to try one. She said it would make my throat feel better. I was skeptical. I mean, a grape’s a grape, right?
